My name is Chevonne, I’m a resident of Pflugerville, Texas and I live here with my husband, Darren, our 5 children, and some of our extended family. We moved here during the pandemic to be closer to family and to try a new adventure together! We previously owned grocery stores on the West Coast and decided to venture into the coffee business here in Central Texas. We are excited to open our own coffee drive thru later this year.

As a mother of 5 PFISD students, I have perspective from the pandemic learning loss, being a parent of a child in special education, being a member of the Campus Academic Advisory Committee for Kelly Lane Middle School, being part of many groups in support of safer schools, keeping schools open, funding public education, supporting educators, as well as being a member and volunteer for political action committees dedicated to supporting human rights like public education, voting, and equity for all. I have 13 years past experience in public education as a parent, PTA president, volunteer, and district member involved in strategic planning, budget oversight, academic advisory, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have a degree in Organizational Analysis and Business Management with post graduate certification through Cornell University. I have owned and operated small businesses for over a decade making me experienced with budgets, recruiting, and retaining qualified individuals to organizations. I’ve worked at a public university in financial aid, university police, and undergraduate studies that handled accreditation and required skills assessments. 

I am also an advocate for educational legislative change to fund public education, compensate educators (retired/current) properly, attract and support aspiring future educators, and better serve our vulnerable, at risk, and special needs communities while also offering on-going training and development to all who work with these students so we are serving all people in our communities. Our differences in backgrounds, abilities, and lived experiences are what make Pflugerville unique and amazing.
